RECOGNIZED FOR
Formed by very passionate, very smart live events pros, Showmakers is a nonprofit committed to supporting and uplifting live event professionals. In the midst of developing their online platform, they needed a rebrand that would quickly resonate with their audience and be extremely flexible for their team of volunteers to work with as they build out thought leadership content online or promote their cause on social media.
OUR APPROACH
Through familiarity, build immediate trust and interest. Speak to the audience on their terms and keep the entire look fluid and easy to manage for a shorthanded volunteer staff.
THE WIN
After exploring a range of directions for the visual look, the team’s feedback quickly formed energy around a single direction capturing the spontaneous nature of scribbled notes, stage direction and on-the-fly improvisation that is endemic to working in live performances. On the road or in the moment, the industry lives and dies by Sharpies and tape. Lots and lots of tape.
Visually tying these elements into a simple-to-execute identity required a durable, make-it-work logo and graphics system. We intentionally created flat vector elements that can overlap, intersect and add emotion to any candid, backstage photo. Impactful, bright colors grab attention on a black backdrop, simultaneously creating a feeling of tattooed grit and assured professionalism.
